Most Challenger groups have qualified instructors who will teach newcomers how to sail and will buddy those who are unable to go out on their own so that everyone can enjoy the thrill of being in a boat and the sense of freedom that sailing always brings
When you are skilled enough to sail alone, it is wonderful to just go off and sail wherever you want to, with no obstacles or interference, just the wind, the water and the boat. It is good to know that sailing a Challenger is a safe way to spend time on the water

For people who have difficulty with gripping or pulling, or even those with low upper body strength and balance who may pull themselves over instead of adjusting the control lines, the Challenger can be fitted with an electric sheet winch to pull the sail in or let it out easily
